K2 new route

Route Above Camp 4 on K2

For 2021 K2, we are planning two different routes above camp4. We will try to find condition on both line in the picture to make sure to reach summit safely.

Green line is the traditional standard route. Because of deep snow divided into different layers cause risk of avalanche resulting low summit rate.

Redline is the route once tried in 1938 and looks to be safer but it needs proper bolt for safe anchorage. Since this route is more on rock, it has zero risk of avalanche. After Climbing onto the rocky wall get to summit shoulder and from summit shoulder there is no more risk  of avalanche till to get on summit. So in 2020 we will definately put bolts and proper anchorage on this rocky wall to ensure safe climbing in near future.
